Time and budget tracking

The two most common questions I get is "How long did that chapter take? How much did it cost?" This page is meant to help give a general estimate broken down by each chapter.

Chapter 1 - General information
Time: 300+ hours
Dates: October 2010 - December 2011

It's hard to say exactly how much "homework" time was spent prior to the start of build. I would estimate I spent about 6 hours a week for a whole year doing what I call the 'recon stage' of the build. This includes reading the plans, researching, planning, Oshkoshing, emailing, phone calls, (I may have even sent out a fax or two), kinko-ing, Catia-ing, etc.

  4. I will be updating this section shortly to include Chapter 13 - most likely in the next month or two. There were a lot of mods during this chapter - and mods require a lot of research, planning, white-boarding, etc.
